Behind the Ink: Meet the Artist

Meet Matt: From Canvas to Skin, a Journey Fueled by Passion
Hello, I'm Matt, a Manitoba native with roots deeply planted in the world of graphic design and visual arts. After studying graphic design in Winnipeg, I ventured west to Vancouver in 2019, driven by a lifelong passion for art and a childhood filled with sketches of superheroes and Star Wars robots, evolving over time into realism and life drawings.
A Dual Passion for BMX and Art
BMX isn't just a hobby for me; it's a form of expression, akin to art. This creative sport has been a significant part of my life, allowing me to use my bike much like a paintbrush, painting my mark on the world through both riding and video production. While BMX filled my days, the dream of tattooing never faded.
A Transition to Tattoo Artistry
My career took a diverse path—from studio beginnings to life as a bicycle courier and freelance artist—each step bringing me closer to realizing my dream of becoming a tattoo artist. It was through these varied experiences that I learned to translate my distinctive artistic style onto the ultimate canvas: skin.
Specializing in Diverse Tattoo Styles
Today, I thrive on creating old school American traditional tattoos and exploring the shades of black & grey and playful cartoon designs. Yet, my artistic curiosity remains boundless. I'm continually open to experimenting with new ideas and techniques that not only challenge my creativity but also enhance my growth as an artist.
Join me on this artistic journey, where traditional meets modern, and every tattoo is a piece of personal and artistic evolution.
